Liz Vickers graduated in 1994 from the University of Richmond and began her career as a Marketing Director for a marketing research company where she developed a passion for working with clients and developing new customer relationships. In 1996, she made her first entry in the publishing industry as a Classified Sales Manager for PTN Publishing (now Cygnus Business Media). Through her 10 years with Cygnus Business Media , she moved up the ranks and in 2001 was made Publisher and then Group Publisher of the Photography Group (Studio Photography & Design, Photo Trade News and Digital Imaging). In December 2006, Liz joined Advantage Business Media as Publisher on Chem.Info. In 2008, Liz moved to the Publisher position on Laboratory Equipment and in January 2012 was made Group Publisher of Laboratory Equipment, ALN, ALN World, Forensic Magazine and DFI with Advantage Business Media’s acquisition of Vicon Publishing.
Tim Studt has been with Advantage Business Media for 25 years, the last 20 of which as Editor in Chief. Along with Laboratory Equipment and Chromatography Techniques, Tim is also responsible for ABM’s Animal Lab News/World magazines, Forensic magazine and Digital Forensic Investigator (DFI) News and their associated newsletters and other editorial products. He’s also responsible for creating the annual Global R&D Funding Forecast. Tim’s editorial staff has won more than 30 business press awards, including the Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award. Tim has launched multiple BTB publications and their associated print and electronic business media products. Tim has a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Lewis University.
Michelle Longo joined the Laboratory Equipment team in June 2010 as an Associate Editor. Prior to working with Laboratory Equipment, Michelle was an Editorial Intern with the magazine's sister publication, Scientific Computing. Michelle earned her B.A. in Journalism from Elon University, Elon, N.C. While there, she was involved with the student newspaper for four years, as well as the local elementary school.
Lily Barback joined Laboratory Equipment in July 2011 as an Associate Editor. Before working at Laboratory Equipment, Lily was the Assistant Editor for the magazine’s sister publication Scientific Computing. Lily received her B.A. in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, NY. Lily is currently seeking representation for her first novel.
