Thermo FisherThermo Fisher Scientific’s 2012-2013 Chromatography Columns and Consumables catalog features newer products such as the Acclaim Surfactant Plus column and smaller-particle size MAbPac SCX-10 column.  Acclaim Surfactant Plus columns are designed for high-resolution, high-efficiency and high-throughput single run separation of different types of surfactants, including nonionic, anionic, cationic and amphoteric, that are used in pesticides, detergents, petroleum products, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The columns are based on a bonding chemistry that results in higher selectivity. The surface modification process is designed to provide column-to-column consistency and a hydrolytically stable and reproducible surface, resulting in enhanced compatibility with a Corona Charged Aerosol Detector, mass spectrometer or evaporative light scattering detector. The smaller-particle sized MAbPac SCX-10 columns, available in 3 and 5 ?m particle sizes, are used for separation of closely related monoclonal antibody variants, even those that differ by as little as one charged residue. The columns provide high-resolution separations, similar to the 10-µm column and the proprietary ProPac WCX-10 4 x 250 mm columns, but offer faster analysis and shorter separation times with enhanced column-to-column and lot-to-lot reproducibility. Additionally, a pH gradient can be used for rapid, high-throughput analysis of monoclonal antibody samples with varying isoelectric points.
